In Mexican culture, Maria de la Soledad is celebrated on December 18, and plays an important role in local culture. With this, this whimsical tea light holder offers protection and comfort to those who occupy the space around it. Every piece is an original work of art, and is pit fired, signed by the artist, and produced exclusively for our stock by our master artisan partner. The piece fits a standard sized tea light, which is placed in the crown of the figure.

Artisan
Our artisan partner developed this decorative technique after her heart surgery over a decade ago. To encourage her healing process, her doctor recommended that she not lift the heavy, utilitarian pieces that she had been producing with her family. As she had four young children to raise, she began working on highly stylized smaller pieces like this that now serve as the main creative focus of her entire family of potters.

Dimensions
Approximately 9cm wide x 15cm tall
