Stretching gracefully to the sky, these handmade tapers are an elegant addition to a table or a mantelpiece. Every candle is individually poured by hand, using Mexican beeswax and require roughly 200 pours to complete a single candle. As they’re made with natural dyes, hues will vary per lot. Unlike their paraffin counterparts that are derived from petroleum and other pollutants, these tapers are created with purely natural materials, including the beeswax, vegetable wax, natural dyes and cotton wicks. They are slow burning and see minimal drips and smoke, if the wicks are properly trimmed.
We're currently offering these candles in plain white, ombré with indigo and ombré with terracotta – a hue derived from fermented nuts. We can also arrange for custom tones by special order.
The master artisans that produce our candles collaborate on custom orders as three generations in their family workshop. Famed for their ornate traditional beeswax candles with natural dyes, this family constantly strives to develop new designs that speak to a contemporary audience on a worldwide basis. They pour every one of these beeswax candles by hand, exclusively for our stock. In addition to their candles, this family also also produces handwoven wool rugs and other vibrant tapestries.
Each candle is approximately 30cm long x 2cm on the bottom
Store these pieces in a cool, dry location. Do not leave candles unattended while they are burning. As these tapers are hand-poured, the bottoms may be slightly larger than our candle holders. In this case, you can simply cut a small bit of the edge with a knife to fit, in order to fit the candles into the piece.
The noted price is for one pair of beeswax taper candles in a single hue. The candle holder is not included. Given the nature of handmade, hues, finishes and size will vary slightly from the featured product image.
