Dine in style with these sublime dinner plates that showcase the beauty of nature and ancestral artistry. The lovely sheen on our custom plates is the result of an intense burnishing process with quartz stones that’s done before the traditional pit fire process – they’re not glazed. Not only are these pieces beautiful, they’re lead-free and food safe. As they’re the result of a handmade process, there are elements that should be considered. Please read our notes below.

Artisan
The maker of these vessels has won awards for her work, and has made custom pieces for a range of clients, including museums across Mexico and the United States. She makes these pieces with the help of her husband, children and grandchildren, who help her to burnish and pit fire her handmade works.

Dimensions
Approximately 28cm wide

Care
For best care results, they should be washed and dried by hand – no dishwasher. We’d also recommend not to use them in the microwave.

Note
The noted price is for a single dinner plate. Given the nature of handmade, the sizes, finishes and hues will vary from the featured product image. As this piece is made from unglazed clay, it will naturally filter water, stain if greasy items are placed on the surface, scratch with the use of forks and knives, plus the pottery will gradually darken and dull over time with use. Also, given the process, these plates may feature spots, cracks, scratches and darker areas. These are normal elements for this type of pottery – they’re not flaws.
