Handmade Agave Foot Rug

In addition to being slow made, fully biodegradable and replete with incredible texture, our custom foot rugs are as practical as they are beautiful. These gorgeous works are individually woven by hand to our specifications from durable agave rope that a family of master artists cultivate, process and spin entirely by hand. Our foot rugs work well on the side of a bed, in a bathroom, kitchen or other low traffic areas. They’re created from undyed, natural fiber that’s sustainably harvested, so that the materials can continue to grow in the wild.

Artisans
This talented family collaborate in their home workshop as three generations. Their intricate works have garnered awards and attention throughout the country. Not only are they vegan and earth friendly, they also support sustainable harvesting practices, celebrate and preserve indigenous creative culture, and help to provide an ongoing stream of income for this dedicated group of creative makers.

Care
These pieces are lightweight and and do not contain synthetic materials of any kind. Given this, they will naturally break down over time, especially if they’re exposed to the elements. To clean the dust from these pieces, simply shake them vigorously outside, or they can also be wiped down with a damp cloth or scrubbed with a brush, if need be, with mild, soapy water. Simply hang to dry. No washing machine, no dryer. In order to extend the life of this piece, we’d recommend avoiding using these rugs outdoors in high traffic areas.
