Add a dash of whimsy to any interior with this maginificent heirloom-quality statement piece. These cushions are made from natural wool that is carded and spun by hand on drop spindle, then woven on traditional backstrap loom. The wool pompoms are custom-dyed with locally sourced organic material, and are assembled and applied by hand. In total, the production of these eco-friendly cushions takes roughly 10 – 15 days. They help to provide a positive stream of income for 12 families in two Mexican states.
At present, we are offering the following natural hues for pompoms:
Cantaloupe – dyed with cochineal and Mexican marigold (pericón)
Cherry Blossom – dyed with cochineal
Ivory – undyed natural wool
Oyster – dyed with Mexican marigold (pericón) and nopal
The bases for these cushions are made by a total of 10 artisan women in Southern Mexico, who wash, card, spin and weave natural wool to create these gorgeous works. We regularly collaborate in-person with our artisan partners in order to produce ongoing custom designs.
The pompoms are custom-dyed by our artisan partners in Southern Mexico with locally sourced organic plants and other materials. These master artisans have been working with natural dyes and the weaving process for over four generations.

For best care results, this piece should be dry cleaned by a professional with expertise in wool textiles. High quality wool products do not require frequent cleanings, and small marks can generally be gently wiped off with a dry cloth.
Given the nature of handmade, sizes, designs and colors may vary slightly from the featured product image. These covers are made to order, and the cushion insert is not included. We recommend a feather insert one size up for a full cushion.
