Add a dash of whimsy to any interior with this handmade artisan textile in beige on cream. Every piece is spun by hand and individually woven on a backstrap loom using undyed natural wool and traditional processes. The sewing is done on machine in Oaxaca, while the poly blend pompoms are assembled and applied by hand in the highlands of Southern Mexico. Every one of these cushions takes over a week to make – end to end. The pompoms are available in a choice of vanilla, blush or sharkskin on an ivory base. We are currently sold out of the pieces with ebony pompoms and have very limited stock of the rest.
These works are made by two talented groups of artisan women in the highlands of Southern Mexico. Both groups operate as family collectives, and collaborate with us directly on our ongoing selection of backstrap wool textiles in a variety of designs and sizes. Each of these cushions takes 8 - 12 full days to complete – from the spinning of the wool to the final sewing of each piece per our specifications.
We work with a seamstress in Oaxaca, Mexico on all of our cushions, so in total, these works help to provide a positive stream of income for 13 women in two Mexican states.

For best care results, this piece should be dry cleaned by a professional with expertise in wool textiles. High quality wool products do not require frequent cleanings, and small marks can generally be gently wiped off with a dry cloth.
