Handspun Agave String Market Hand Bag

Biodegradable, vegan-friendly and slow made, our agave market bags are rustic, lightweight vessels that are ideal for carrying your summer bounty from your local farmer’s market to your table. Every piece is individually created by a family of master artists from undyed, sustainably sourced Mexican agave. The material is harvested and processed by hand, using the same methods that were in place in Mesoamerican times and are produced in very small batches.

Artisans
This talented family collaborate in their home workshop as three generations. Their intricate works have garnered awards and attention throughout the country. Not only are they vegan and earth friendly, they also support sustainable harvesting practices, celebrate and preserve indigenous creative culture, and help to provide an ongoing stream of income for this dedicated group of creative makers.

Care
These pieces are lightweight and and do not contain synthetic materials of any kind. Given this, they will naturally break down over time, if they’re exposed to the elements outdoors. To clean these bags use a damp cloth with mild, soapy water, if need be.
