Textile aficionados, this lovely handmade spindle is for you. Both functional and decorative piece of art, these sleek tools are made in Southern Mexico from wood and earthen pottery. They’re used by artisans to spin rustic, hand-carded wool into yarn of various thicknesses that they use in backstrap weaving projects. Longer spindles are used to create fine yarn, while shorter spindles are used to spin a chunkier wool. These pretty pieces also look lovely on a shelf or mounted on a wall as an intriguing conversation piece.

Artisans
These tools are handmade and used in the highlands of Southern Mexico – a region that is quite cold during the winter season and where wool textiles are in abundance.

Size
Approximately 45cm long
