Both graceful and unexpected, these sublime textile works pay tribute to their namesake, as well as the traditional processes used to create them. A member of this artisan family described his weaving education as learning how to dance –memorizing the steps for every pattern until eventually, his body instinctively knew the movements. Made by hand on standing foot pedal looms, these refined pieces are available in natural unbleached cotton with a vertical stripe in hazelnut, island paradise or lapis blue.
This master weaving family has been producing quality textiles in Southern Mexico since 1920. Their process speaks to a storied creative inheritance, and three generations of weavers who work side-by-side on a daily basis. With a focus on quality, consistency and dedicated innovation, this family is regularly chosen to participate in artisan initiatives, and are widely recognized for excellence in their craft in Mexico and beyond.
